Uniting Church Staff Iftar Dinner 2022
On the 26th of April 2022, the AIS Executive Director, Ahmet Keskin, joined the Uniting Church Victoria & Tasmania staff for an iftar dinner at Wesley Place, as an expression of inter-faith harmony and goodwill. It was the initiative of the Moderator, Rev Denise Liersch, and some Muslim professionals working there to help organise the night, which was attended by about 30 staff from across the Uniting Church organisation.
It was a wonderful opportunity for guests to hear a few words about Ramadan and its origins. It was also an opportunity to reflect on the common values we share – love thy neighbour, being mindful of the needy and offering care the elderly as members from UnitingCare were also present.
